he band's first line up was formed in early 1998. and the first founding members were Morbid, Leviathan and, at that time, also the members of "Castrum" - Insanus and Dirgloch. The first demo, titled "Ancient darkness" was recorded soon afterwards.
A few local gigs followed but after that, a period of silence ensued.
In 2001. the second demo - "Unleash hell" was recorded and L.P. joined the band on the bass guitar. What followed was a tour troughout Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.
During that time, Gorthaur's Wrath won first place at the biggest local alternative festival - "Ri-rock" in Rijeka (Croatia)
and supported bands such as Behemoth, Varg's riket, Carphatian forest and others.
The year 2002. was marked by their third recorded piece, called "Paroxysms of madness". L.P. and Dirgloch left the band and were replaced with Lanzaroth (of Death of folk) on guitar and Pesten (from the italian
bend Exterminhate) on bass.
With this line up, the band started touring again and appeared on Croatia's biggest underground festival - "Storm of hate",
were they received a great response and respect from the fans. Gorthaur's wrath's first video was recorded during that event.
The video was for the song "Shadow Mirrors". A second song, "Hear the voice of fire" was also recorded for the "Strom of hate" official compilation.
After these prosperous times, the band went silent again due to the constant line up changes. They appeared
on a few shows with "Graveworm" and at the first "Metal camp festival" in Slovenia, but new songs were far from being completed.
In 2005. Gothmog aka Moric joined the band on the guitar and the famous italian drummer Andrea (ex-"Necrosphere" and "Cenotaph")
completed the line up. The new chapter in the life of the band had begun. With session members from various Croatian bands,
Gorthaur's wrath appeared on selected occasions only, one of those being their first live appereance in Sarajevo
(Bosnia and Herzegovina), where new legions of fans were gathered.
Their last live appereance was at the local club "Tocka" as support to American act "Vital remains". After this period, the bend withdrew to the studio were they remained until the present day, polishing the latest material. A new, second
guitar player - Meshi, joined during the recording time and soon after him, Krvolok (Nekrist,Kult Perunov,Dark realm) joined on the
bass guitar as well. The line up was finally completed.
"Ritual IV" is the title of their latest effort, recorded during the past three years.
Several guests appeared on "Ritual IV". These were: Zombiemachine aka Marko, Karlo and Marko from local act
"Downfall", Pol Pot and B.K.
To those faitfhul souls who remained with us through all these years - this is something you've been waiting for. We have returned!
